Targeted Therapy for Metastatic Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer
نویسندگان
چکیده
The use of next-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors has led to improved progression-free survival for patients with metastatic non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and those EGFR -mutant ALK -positive tumors. Newer therapeutics can now target KRAS G12C mutations, exon 20 insertions, ERBB2 ( HER2) mutations. Patients NSCLC should undergo molecular testing these mutations as well BRAF mutations; MET 14 skipping alterations; ROS1 , RET NTRK gene rearrangements (fusions). Novel targeted are emerging at a fast pace.

Alu profiling of primary and metastatic nonsmall cell lung cancer.
The metastatic potential of nonsmall cell carcinoma of lung (NSCLC), is currently recognized post factum, when lymph nodes or distant organs are already involved. Our ability to determine which tumors have acquired metastatic potential could help direct therapy to be more aggressive or less aggressive based upon this information. Evaluation of microsatellite instability via detection of LOH at ...

OBJECTIVE To guide the optimal selection among first-generation epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) in clinical practice. This review attempted to provide a thorough comparison among three first-generation EGFR-TKIs, namely icotinib, erlotinib, and gefitinib, with regard to their molecular structure, pharmacokinetic parameters, clinical data, adverse reaction...

Membrane distillation is a thermally driven membrane process for seawater desalination and purification at moderate temperatures and pressures. A hydrophobic micro-porous membrane is used in this process, which separates hot and cold water, allowing water vapor to pass through; while restricting the movement of liquid water, due to its hydrophobic nature. This paper provides an experimental inv...
متن کاملSurgery for nonsmall cell lung cancer.
Surgery remains the best curative option in patients with early stage lung cancer (stage I and II). Developments in minimally invasive techniques now allow surgeons to perform lung resections on elderly patients, patients with poor pulmonary function or significant cardiopulmonary comorbidities. New techniques, such as stereotactic radiotherapy and ablative procedures, are being evaluated in ea...
متن کاملRadio(chemo)therapy in locally advanced nonsmall cell lung cancer.
Definitive radiochemotherapy is the standard treatment for many patients with locally advanced nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Treatment outcomes have improved over the last decades. Several treatment regimens have been shown effective and safe. This review summarises the results of significant studies between 1996 and 2015 on concomitant and sequential radiochemotherapy regimens and radiati...
